The Dane County branch of the nationwide leading non-profit, Boys & Girls Club of America, has chosen full-service marketing agency, Pop-Dot, to drive the branding, website design and development, and more for their ground-breaking project: the McKenzie Regional Workforce Center (MRWC). The center is Boys and Girls Club’s biggest training center in the nation, and was initiated by BGCDC President and CEO, Michael Johnson, and owner of McKenzie Apartments, John McKenzie. The center will be a training facility that aims to provide young adults career opportunities in skilled trades like plumbing and construction.

“We’re honored that John, Michael, and the whole BGCDC team chose us to lead the branding efforts for the McKenzie Regional Workforce Center,” Pop-Dot’s President and Senior Director, Kate Ewings, said of the project. “We know just how important it is to not only them, but to the entire community. We can’t wait to unveil all of the significant actions we have in store for the training center branding in 2023 and beyond!”

Boys & Girls Club has taken center-stage in the nation for non-profit organizations that help underprivileged families and kids. The Dane County branch specifically has been a trend-setter for all of the other nation’s branches when it comes to their initiatives, especially the MRWC project. The work being done to build this workforce training center has created the vision for future Boys & Girls Club’s workforce centers to come. With the marketing efforts so far, BGCDC has raised over $31 million of their $35 million construction goal.

The McKenzie Regional Workforce Center website launched in early 2022, and programming is expected to begin in mid 2023 following building renovations. Education, training, certification, apprenticeships, and job placement will be available to young adults in high school. Younger students will have the opportunity to explore career options and learn life skills.

“We’re proud to add Boys & Girls Club to our valued roster of clients,” said Jason Fish, CEO of Pop-Dot. Boys & Girls Club joins the long list of large national and global companies working with the Madison-based agency. Others include: Lean Focus, Glue Dots International, Grande Cheese Company, and many more.
